Ship Security Officer (SSO) Course is conducted in accordance with
the requirements of the Directorate General of Shipping, aligned with International
Maritime Organization standards and the STCW Convention, including provisions
of the ISPS Code.
The course is designed to prepare officers to take responsibility as Ship
Security Officer onboard ships, ensuring implementation and maintenance of ship
security measures. It provides comprehensive knowledge of ship security plans
(SSP), risk assessment, security levels, and threat identification.
Training includes theoretical instruction and practical exercises,
focusing on access control, monitoring of restricted areas, security equipment
handling, and coordination with Company Security Officer (CSO) and Port
Facility Security Officer (PFSO).
Special emphasis is placed on conducting security drills, audits, inspections, and responding to security incidents, along with maintaining proper documentation and records as per ISPS Code requirements.
