Marine Engineering Officer Class2(Preparatory)
The curriculum of the MEO Class
II Preparatory Course covers advanced subjects such as Marine Engineering,
Motor Engineering, Steam Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Naval Architecture,
and Marine Electrical & Electronics. It includes detailed study of ship
machinery, thermodynamics, control systems, and maintenance practices. Emphasis
is placed on problem-solving, numerical applications, and interpretation of
engineering systems.
The course is structured as per
the requirements of the Directorate General of Shipping and STCW guidelines,
ensuring comprehensive preparation for the Certificate of Competency
examination.
- Achieve thorough preparation to successfully clear
the MEO Class II Certificate of Competency examination conducted by the
Directorate General of Shipping.
- Develop advanced knowledge of marine engineering
systems, including main propulsion, auxiliary machinery, and shipboard
operations.
- Gain in-depth understanding of motor, steam, and
electrical engineering systems used on board ships.
- Apply principles of thermodynamics, applied
mechanics, and naval architecture in practical scenarios.
- Enhance ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and
maintain complex ship machinery and control systems.

required for engineering calculations and examinations.
