Proficiency
in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (PSCRB) is a mandatory course conducted
in accordance with the requirements of the Directorate General of Shipping,
aligned with International Maritime Organization standards and the STCW
Convention.
The course is
designed to provide seafarers with the knowledge and practical skills required
to launch, operate, and take charge of survival craft and rescue boats in
emergency situations. It covers lifeboats, liferafts, rescue boats, and their
equipment, along with procedures for abandoning ship and survival at sea.
Training
includes theoretical instruction and extensive practical drills, focusing on launching
and recovery of survival craft, handling of boats in rough weather, and use of
emergency equipment.
Special emphasis is placed on leadership, command, and control of survival craft, including organization of survivors, rationing, distress signaling, and rescue operations.
