Refresher in Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (R-FPFF) is a
mandatory course conducted in accordance with the requirements of the Directorate
General of Shipping, aligned with International Maritime Organization standards
and the STCW Convention.
The course is designed to refresh and update the basic firefighting
knowledge and practical skills of seafarers as required for STCW revalidation.
Training includes theoretical revision and practical drills, covering fire
prevention, types and causes of fire, use of portable and fixed firefighting
equipment, and emergency response procedures.
Special emphasis is placed on hands-on training, including use of fire
extinguishers, hoses, hydrants, breathing apparatus, and fireman’s outfit,
along with team coordination during firefighting operations.
